General Admission Requirements
{COMPLIANCE AND REGULATION INFORMATION)
To be eligible for enrollment of any course that requires 300 hours or more, the applicant must;
- Be a minimum of 16 years old, and provide a valid government PHOTO Identification.
- Have completed and passed the 7th grade. No GED or Diploma is required
- Provide proof of educational requirements. Click here to view.
- Pay the required Registration Fee.
- Complete new student orientation.

Financial Aid
We currently do not accept financial aid but are working towards accreditation. Although it is a lengthy process we do plan to offer financial aid in the future. We currently do offer in house financing and can set up a payment plan suitable to your budget. We work with everyone! Keep in mind before completing your course all remaining balances must be paid in full.

Transfer Students
I have completed hours in an out-of-state barber school. Can I transfer those hours to a barber school in Texas?
TDLR allows the transfer of hours from out-of-state schools. You need to submit your out-of-state transcripts to TDLR. Transcripts must be received in a sealed envelope and signed by a school official.
Each barber school makes its own decision as to whether or not it accepts any or all of your out-of-state hours.
I am a barber student currently enrolled in one school. I want to transfer to a different barber school. How do I make sure I get credit for the hours I have already earned? The hours you earn will always follow you and will be in your enrollment history. If you wish to transfer to another school, make sure your current school has posted all of your hours into SHEARS. Then you may transfer to the new school once you have been dropped from the current school. You may verify your hours via the website at http://www.tdlr.texas.gov/BarberDataSearch/ .

Have a recognized equivalent of High School Diploma such as a home-schooled certificate by the state where the student resided during home school. Must have completed homeschooling at the secondary level as defined by state law. (Note: Due to the passage of Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2012, students who do not have a high school diploma or equivalent and did not complete secondary school in a home-school setting can no longer gain eligibility for Title IV funds by passing an “ability-to-benefit” test.)
This Admissions Policy is used to define the enrollment requirements for individuals who wish to enroll at Game Changers Barber Academy as a regular student. Game Changers Barber Academy must adhere to the U.S. Department of Education, Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation-Barbering and Council On Occupational Education guidelines.
